Trust & Safety

Trust is part of the lesson.

birdieyard connects players with local coaches, so safety has to be visible before, during, and after a lesson.

Ask a safety question

Coach eligibility

Every public coach profile is reviewed before it receives an eligibility badge. The badge is a trust signal, not a ranking.
  • Coaches confirm they are 18 or older.
  • The team reviews PGA/LPGA credentials, GHIN handicap claims, or self-reported coaching experience.
  • Real Checkr and GHIN integrations are planned, but current review is handled by the birdieyard team.

Teaching-location safety

Coaches are responsible for choosing lesson settings that are safe, permitted, and clear about what players should expect.
  • Coach-owned backyards and home setups should have appropriate netting, space, and equipment for the lesson being taught.
  • Exact private addresses stay private until the lesson is confirmed.
  • Players should stop a lesson if anything feels unsafe and contact birdieyard.

Lesson conduct

Players and coaches should communicate clearly, respect private spaces, and only confirm times they intend to honor.
